The wait is over

Alexander Wang made his much anticipated debut at Balenciaga today in Paris. Worries about a young street-influenced designer taking over such an enormous and classic brand were put to rest. Wang took this collection back to the roots of the house.

A focus on construction, architecture, and fit put all emphasis on the clothes. No gimmicks or trend dominated pieces were shown. Clean lines and silhouettes made for a simple presentation. Marble details, fur, single strap stilettos, and a black and white dominance gave a sophisticated view of classics.

Not only did Wang prove that he is worthy of his new title, but he proved his maturity as a designer.

So much respect for him, and such a big step for young designers.
I'm excited for what the future will bring!

~Pretty Pretty Prada~

There were plenty of pretty things to look at during this show. A sort of best of Prada show, there were no huge shockers but I will was still content. I found myself staring at very pair of shoes during the show.
They are all so perfect. If there was a ever a perfect time for my first Prada item, Fall would be it.
These shoes are my version of ruby red slippers (bare with me on this analogy). I believe they are magical and I don't care who's feet I have to pry them off to get them.

Burberry delivers yet again!

I thought there was no topping the lust for last season's metallic Burberry Prorsum trench coats, but like always I was wrong.
Christopher Bailey is undeniably a genius. He is able to pinpoint exactly what women want, while making it look entirely effortless. This collection is feminine and playful but not in a way we have seen a million times. The lines silhouettes are perfection. The sheer almost rubber like material that is seen adds a modern edge to cutesy heart patterns.
A natural makeup and hair look out the focus exactly where it should be, on the clothes. The muted color scheme kept everything light and looking polished. This show felt like a breath of fresh air amongst the dark smog previous shows have left behind.
Burberry is classic for a reason. 👌
